Most of our turtle customers use our Filter First to keep their water clear. The polishing pads are a great idea but they can clog up rather quickly so you want to have the water flowing through your canister filter filtered before going through the polishing pad. Our customers typically use the FirstFirst pad first then the water flows through the polishing pad, this allows the polishing pad to last longer before needing to be cleaned or replaced. The water is forced down through the center of the three baskets. The FilterFirst and Polishing Pad should go in the first basket, soft sides facing up.
